The aim of this tool is to give a geographic overview of research on neuronal ceroid lipofuscinosis (NCL). Building on a Pubmed search performed on 21 August 2021 (click here for the exact search terms), location data were extracted from the search results, and coordinates were added using information from the Openstreetmap database.
Precision of coordinates is at the city level. For some articles, location information may be inaccurate due to the partly manual process of extracting location information from the unstructured author affiliation field in the Pubmed database. Articles with insufficient location information were excluded.
The oldest record in the database is from 1973. With few exceptions, cooperations are only visible for articles published in 2014 or later. Author and location data may be incomplete, especially for old articles.
